Cooking Broccoli

Steaming is the best method of cooking broccoli. Refer to our video on preparing broccoli for steaming by cutting into florets. For steaming, bring lightly salted water to a boil in a steamer with a tight fitting lid. Once water is boiling, place broccoli in steamer basket and cover. Depending on the size of your florets, steam for just about 3-4 minutes until florets are tender, yet still have a bright green color. You can pierce floret with the point of a sharp knife to tell if it is done to tenderness. You may even want to remove while still a little crisp on in the center.
