Curly Kale


  • 7-8 Curly Kale leaves
  • 1 medium size onion (diced)
  • 2 tbs grated coconut
  • 2 green chilies medium size (slit)
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • salt to taste

After thorough washing of the leaves and stems, cut the leaves (thinner the better) and mix all the above ingredients.

In a pan heat 2 TBS oil. Add 1/2 tsp mustard seed and when they pop add the kale and cook on a low flame for 10 min, with lid closed.

Please do not over cook; it will lose its flavor. The leaves should not lose their color.

Note: We recommend you also try this recipe using 2TBS of broth to cook the kale and add extra virgin olive oil once it has been cooked. Cooking oils at high temperatures can create harmful compounds that can be avoided by using broth instead.
